The Beautiful Factory, also known as the Zurita Factory, is an architectural jewel located on an estate of approximately 10 acres. Surrounded by lush trees, mainly pines and holm oaks, it borders the Pena River and is accessed via a recently built bridge. It is also 1 km from the Pena reservoir and about 3 km from the urban center of the town of Valderrobres (Teruel). Built in 1789, this impressive structure consists of a majestic 5-story main building, each with an approximate area of 4,305 square feet, accompanied by a cozy annex house and a charming chapel, the Chapel of Santa Barbara. Despite its state of preservation, the façade and some interior walls with original arcades still retain their splendor and historical charm. The originality of this property is undeniable: being one of the first in Europe to combine a stately home with a factory, and adorned with fascinating paintings throughout the façade with bullfighting themes, animals and reproductions of the factory's distinctive seal throughout its façade. The Beautiful Factory, as its name suggests, not only served as a residence for the Zurita family, but was also a paper mill that took advantage of the natural resources of the environment. However, with the mechanization of the paper industry, its activity fell into disuse. In 1955, the factory underwent a dismantling process, during which the roofs, door and window frames, as well as other wooden elements were removed. These dismantled materials were acquired by the renowned Damm Beer Factory in Barcelona. Today, the Beautiful Factory has been on the Red List of Spanish Heritage in Danger since September 2020, which highlights the importance of its conservation and the unique restoration opportunity it offers to visionary investors. The Beautiful Factory is located in an exceptional place: the Matarraña region, famous for its astonishing natural beauty, its rich historical and cultural legacy, and its charming medieval villages, carefully preserved next to its castles, churches and other monuments of great value. In addition, the local gastronomy is an authentic treasure, with delicious dishes made with local products and recipes passed down from generation to generation. The region offers a wide range of activities throughout the year that attract visitors: from exciting hunting and fishing expeditions to enriching cultural tourism experiences and the exploration of highly valued mycological areas. In addition, its proximity, just 20 km from the Motorland Circuit in Alcañiz, adds an additional attraction for lovers of speed and excitement. The owner family had the ambitious project of restoring the estate in order to convert it into a high-quality Rural Hotel, in the style of the distinguished Relais & Chateaux. To this end, they carried out an exhaustive study of the hotel environment of the region and its potential. Currently, we can find several similar buildings already restored and in full operation, aimed at a select target audience. Hotels such as La Torre del Visco, El Convent 1613, Hotel Torre del Marqués, La Fábrica de Solfa, Más de la Serra and Más de la Costa, among others, offer between 10 and 30 rooms, where every detail, from the architectural singularity to the gastronomy and the environment, is crucial to providing an exceptional tourist experience. Don't miss the opportunity to be part of history and this extraordinary property that awaits to be returned to its former glory.
