is so called because the owner once upon a time caught some waves on Bondi beach in Australia (which will be a great place when its finished) and he still has the T-shirt to prove it. So the name was a no -brainer but it must be said quickly that this super finca is located just 7 kilometres from the coastal town of L’Ametlla where you can scuba dive, wind-surf and swim with giant tuna. So there is a salty-sea connection to what is a truly interesting finca with, and here comes the cliche, with huge potential. Set on more than 2 hectares of land with ‘mild’ seaviews, the main house has three bedrooms, an office, bathroom and an open plan kitchen and living room area. It might need a revamp but this 121 meter square house is a solid proposition of classic proportions and yes, that word again, with serious potential at not huge cost. Attached to the main house is a reformed 25 square metre space with stone rendered walls and French doors leading to a leafy patio surrounded by morera trees. Attached at the other side is a 35 square meter garage that can be adapted to become what ever the imagination can think up. The development possibilities are slightly endless as next to this there is a covered corrall of 25mts and then another corall of 21 square meters. There is an issue here as the latter two roofs are made with asbestos. Then just ten meters from the main hubble of buildings we have a raised pool, 9 x 5 meters with a enormous with 70,000 liters capacity plus a generous sun-deck where the mild views of the sea become substantially better. It also has a pool room and pool equipment but it really does need some tender love and restoration. There is a 12 meter square electricity room with an ultra modern solar system, lithium batteries and, wait for this, a solar powered pump that brings water from deep in the belly of the earth and fills an elevated cistern so the water in the house works with the pressure of gravity. There is also a generator on the off chance the sun does not shine for a few days but, and this is a very curious thing, there is another structure built on the lower limit of the finca, what appears to be a huge reservoir of water of 100,000 liters or thereabouts; but it is very odd for while the reinforced concrete walls are more than 180cms high, there is no doorway and the structure itself is self-evidently unfinished. Its like a bunch of alien teenagers came down to party on the earth and after a few beers decided to build something for the heck of it and hey presto, the curious ‘alien’ structure appeared. Then they got back into their space ship, out of their alien heads, and were stopped on their way home by the Intergalatic police and handed an interstellar drunk flying ticket and had their vehicle thrown into a worm hole. Yes, the structure is that strange but there is no doubt a purpose that could be found for it! Meanwhile back on planet earth, the size of the finca is quite generous, made up of two parcelas that total more than 2.2 hectares of land. The finca has a gentle energy that is very attractive but there are two negative points. The access is largely good but the last 600 meters is on a winding, gravel track. And there is an electic tower at 70 meters from the house. We commissioned a magnetic radiation study to ascertain if there were any risk to health before we put the property on the market and the good news is there is no risk whatsoever. So what is the price and who might want to pay it a visit? Well the asking price is €225,000 and the potential buyer is someone who is energized by the challenge of taking this property and with time and energy, turn it into a little slice of rural paradise. Or someone who is interested in alien building methodology. But really what we can say is that when this finca is renovated, we don’t think the owner will be all that interested in heading down to L’Ametlla to wind surf.
