Finca Las 2 Casas is called Finca las 2 Casas because there are, would you believe, 2 casas on the finca. Two quaint little houses that have something dramatic in common. They both enjoy the most spectacular, soul-elevating, heart-jumping views of the Ebro river as it meanders past the cosmopolitan city of Tortosa far below(actually its not really cosmopolitan but it’s a nice size all the same) And on the opposite side of this river valley, one sees the quietly inspiring Port Mountains rise 1.600 meters into the skyline, a natural reserve of 400 square kilometers known for their slightly nutty wild goats called Hispanic Ibex and the many vultures circling the sky keeping an eye out for a hiker who may have slipped to their death and now represent the possibility of a nice lunch. In fact, the Port mountains are famous for their GR7 hiking trails. Meanwhile back at the finca, it must be said that neither of the two casas are very big, the smaller one would not be big enough to fit King Charles ears in the living room BUT, and there is a but, when you combine all the covered porches, the almacens and storage sheds attached to both houses, you could have up to 90m2 of living space. Not bad when you think about it but this brings us to a crucial point you must consider before you decide to visit this mountain finca. It is a renovation project pure and simple and will require the buyer to bring some creative spice and joyful vision to make the 2 casas sing in the cool morning air (it is 600mts above sea-level) and turn the property into an amazing melody. It will of course need new roofs, a solar system, an integrated design plan and a large water cistern which one might build with the idea of it forming a terrace that leans out from the property and into the valley. The asking price is €135,000 which is negotiable but then there is a substantial investment to develop the property. Finca Las 2 Casas is located on 2.5 hectares of wonderfully maintained land and productive olive groves; furthermore, it has super access on an asphalt road and is but 7 kilometers from the capital town of the area as in Tortosa. Basically, if the idea is to buy a little farm with a unique location and soul stirring views, with practically no neighbours and with a passion for renovation and creativity, then remember that 2 is always better than 1 and these 2 might well be worth a visit.
