Layout The house is discreetly hidden behind an exquisite handcrafted Moroccan door. Once inside, the paved courtyard offers a serene and inviting welcome - complete with a luxurious swimming pool, flanked by shaded seating and with plenty of sunny corners for relaxing and a beautiful outdoor dining area. Ground floor At the heart of the house is a vast beamed double-height living area with antique olive oil urns and the original wrought iron olive press incorporated into the interior decoration. This is a wonderful space for entertaining with a dining room with space for 12 guests set around a magnificent table repurposed from the original granite millstone. This area connects through to a grand living room with a log fireplace and no less than three seating zones. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and both electric and gas hobs. French doors lead from the kitchen to the patio ensuring seamless connection between indoors and out. Two double bedrooms and a bathroom are located in a wing of the ground floor, one of which has patio doors to the pool terrace. On the first floor are 3 more double bedrooms each with access to the terraces. The master bedroom, reached by a separate staircase, has its own ensuite bathroom and walk-in dressing room. French doors lead from here out to a terrace with an enchanting Moroccan gazebo, which makes a delightful spot for a siesta in the shade, or stargazing with a sundowner in hand. The other 2 double bedrooms and the 3rd bathroom are reached via the main staircase, both have French doors which connect to the terrace and down to the pool. Location The village of Melegís is set in the stunning Lecrin Valley. Surrounded by the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Sierra Nevada and a lush valley of citrus, almond and olive trees set around the glistening Béznar reservoir. It`s a vibrant village with a great community spirit ?€? There are no less than three annual fiestas celebrating the two patron saints and the orange harvest. The award-winning Los Naranjos restaurant is just a couple of minutes´ walk from the house and the opening of a new fine dining restaurant, Elysium, is planned for 2025. Despite being a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city and coast, Melegís is just a 30-minute drive to the centre of beautiful Granada, and a 25-minute drive to the nearest beaches at Playa Granada and Salobreña. In Winter you can be at the ski resort of Sierra Nevada in under hour. The closest airports are Malaga (1 hour and 15 minutes´ drive) and Granada (35 minutes´ drive). The Lecrin Valley is also a tourism destination and this house does have an active tourism license in place. This is a property which needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
