description

Beautifully renovated, substantial country house of 360 m2 built set in a plot of 12.800 m2, half of which is olive groves. The property possesses all modern amenities, a large swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and dining area, a Moroccan lounge and a private gym.   In every direction and as far as you can see, the property has spectacular views over rolling hills planted to olives, almonds, oak and pine. Located half-way between Granada and Malaga with easy access to both.   The house is an attractively restored farmhouse in a fabulous setting. Previously a humble, crumbling ruin it has been completely rebuilt, renovated and extended by its owners into a beautiful, spacious five bedroom home.   Entrance to the house is via an external courtyard with a giant oak tree at its centre, through traditional double wooden doors into an internal courtyard, complete with tiled pilar (fountain).   The internal courtyard is at the centre of the house. From here doors and stairs lead to its various wings. One door leads directly into the hub of the house, the main very spacious open-plan living area, divided into environments for reading, television, games, dining and cooking.   The games or reading area has a built in sofa and a second smaller sofa with a low coffee table and a large screen for games and movies.   Moving through to the sitting, dining and kitchen areas - the kitchen is well equipped, thoroughly modern and efficient, light and bright, with all modern appliances: electric oven, five-ring gas hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a walk-in larder with a second freezer. A centre island unit with two stools creates a breakfast bar. A glass dining table seating eight to ten people completes one side of the space.   On the other side of the room, in the living area, there are two large sofas, a glass fronted fireplace and big French windows opening onto a terrace with wonderful views.   The two downstairs bedrooms are accessed by a door from the living room. The first is a twin with en-suite shower room, then two steps down to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and access to a private terrace enjoying excellent views. On the other side of the living room a door leads back to the central patio. These two interconnecting rooms are ideal for a family with children but the interconnecting door can be closed and they can both become totally private and independent.   On this ground level there is also a toilet/laundry room that can be accessed from the dining area or from the pool area.   From the living room stairs lead up to the master bedroom. This is a large, light, bright room with high ceilings, whitewashed walls, terracotta floors and a super-king- sized bed. The en-suite bathroom is in keeping with the bedroom: large, light and with great views. It has a walk in shower and a freestanding claw-foot bath.   From the master bedroom there are doors on one side that open on to a small terrace looking backwards onto the stone threshing circle and on the other side to a spectacular sun terrace, complete with loungers and distant views of hills and mountains rolling across undulating countryside. A great place to gaze up at the night sky unpolluted by light spill. From this terrace a backstairs leads down to the pool area.   Back in the central courtyard, a metal stair and walkway leads up to what remains of the original old farm house, now converted into two lovely bedrooms. One is a double with direct access onto the large threshing circle at the back of the house. The other is a long room with vaulted ceiling, king sized bed and a Juliet balcony with double doors. It enjoys plenty of natural light, excellent views and the charm of the rustic country cortijo. These two bedrooms share a large shower room.   From the kitchen, large glass doors open onto the pool area which has a Moroccan majlis, with fountain, under the shade of a majestic algarrobo tree. Directly outside the kitchen a wide porch runs along the length of the house. To the right of the doors is a long tiled dining table and chairs, to the left another sitting area with sofas.   On the far side of the pool is another covered dining area and a large outdoor kitchen with a built in barbecue.   Separate from the house, there is a large external games room next to the threshing circle with a pool table, small bar area and gym equipment.   The property has its own well, which could be used to irrigate a garden.   Second House The owners also have a second property, acquired at the same time as the main house. This property consists of a ruin of 165 m2 for which outline planning consent has been granted. Its plot of 13.000 m2 borders that of the main house but the ruin is situated high above on a hill and the two are entirely private. It is possible to acquire both properties together. The price for the second property is €75.000.
